Certain aspects of eService depend on the type of license for the Inventory Module that your company holds. There are two types of licenses for the Inventory module – Basic Inventory license or Full Inventory license. For the Full license, the system includes the functionality necessary to valuate inventory.
The type of Inventory license you have affects Inventory Usage in eService.
Warehouse ID / Item ID
In Inventory Usage, when Value Inventory is not used, then the Warehouse ID / Item ID combinations shown in the Select pop-up are for the Warehouses and Items that are valid for the Warehouse property access as set up in eService.
Having a Full Inventory license affects the following in Inventory Usage.
Warehouse ID / Item ID
In Inventory Usage, when Value Inventory is turned on, then the Warehouse ID / Item ID (fields) combinations shown in the Select pop-up are for the Warehouses and Items that are valid for:
the property on the work order
and
the current eService property that correspond to the eFinancials property.
Shipment Expense
In Inventory Usage:
The Shipment Expense field only appears when Value Inventory is turned on.
The value that defaults into the Shipment Expense field comes from the Shipment Expense code that was entered on the Warehouse Item in Inventory Module—Setup—Global Setup—Warehouse Item.
A valid current eFinancials Inventory batch is required when you add Inventory Usage.
A Shipment is created in eFinancials when Inventory Usage is added. The shipment has a document ID of WO # XXXXX, where XXXXX is the Work Order # that the inventory was added for.
A Shipment Return is created in eFinancials when you edit or delete Inventory Usage in eService. To edit or delete Inventory Usage, add another Inventory Usage record with a negative Qty Used to remove or back out Inventory Usage for a Work Order.
NOTE that a Work Order cannot be deleted if Inventory Usage has been added to the Work Order unless the total Qty Used for that Work Order equals zero.
Warehouse Property Access is hidden from the menu in eService when Value Inventory is turned on.
